First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Panzura.
Software Engineer
So, they initially picked me for a Java Developer position. But then the interview shifted focus, and they started grilling me on OS topics like synchronization, deadlock, and inter-process communication. After that, they threw in some C and C++ questions, mainly around memory allocation. Finally, they wrapped up with a few Java-specific questions, such as why it's platform independent and what JRE and JVM are, along with method overloading and overriding.
- Could you discuss OS concepts like synchronization and deadlock, along with C++ memory allocation and OOP concepts?
- What are your thoughts on Java's platform independence, the difference between JRE and JVM, and the concepts of method overloading versus overriding?
Software Engineer
This was a hectic and frankly the worst interview process I've ever experienced. The leadership was rude, and I felt like it was just a waste of the interviewer's time. The leaders here don't seem to trust the interviews done by others and won't understand your expertise.
- The leadership asked very illogical questions in the final round.
- The questions asked were not even relevant to my field of work.
Software Engineer
It's a multi-stage process. First, there are tech questions covering algorithms, storage systems, cloud storage, nfs, iops, samba smb, file systems, linux/freebsd, s3, aws, and azure. Then you talk to the hire manager, and finally hr.
- Could you tell me about some algorithms and data structures?
- What are some common algorithms and data structures you've worked with?
- Describe your understanding of storage systems.
