First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pantex Plant.
Manufacturing Engineer
I had two interviews. First was in person with recruitment, lasted about 30 mins. Second was online for about an hour with a group of engineers and management. They asked about my resume and then some STAR questions.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard. They mostly used the STAR method. They asked mainly behavioral questions, not many technical ones. They wanted to know how I handled past situations, what I did, and what happened. This helps them see how I solve problems, work with others, and if I fit in. For instance, I had to talk about a tough project, explaining the situation, my responsibilities, how I tackled it, and what the results were. It was more about behavioral stuff and what I've done before than technical skills.
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with a peer on a project. What was the situation and how did you resolve it?
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Do your research before your interview. They were impressed by my knowledge of the plant and especially since I researched the interviewer and was able to cite some of their articles while explaining what I wanted to work on. Normally, you'd have in-person interviews, but they let me do a phone interview because of my family situation.
- What do you aim to learn in this internship?
- What prior experiences do you have that will help you succeed in this internship?
Fire Protection Engineer
It was pretty easy. They asked some common behavioral questions, like giving a word, a description, and then asking a question. There were 3 of those. They also asked a couple of questions about my resume and my hobbies. The interviewers were nice and they also discussed some other open positions.
- Can you share an instance when you worked with a challenging team member?
- Could you tell me about your resume?
- What can you tell me about your hobbies?
