It was a really off-putting experience. They didn't seem to take it seriously at all and never followed up to let me know how it went. I ended up getting a job at a competitor a month later and have since been promoted twice in the last 1.5 years.

I applied online and then a recruiter called me for about 30 minutes to talk about my interest in the role. The next week I had an in-person interview that lasted an hour. After that, I was given an assessment test to complete by the end of the week that covered problem-solving and personality. Then I had another in-person interview that was 2 hours long with multiple people, and they asked me about my outlook and general competency. After that, they made me an offer.

It was a two-day interview, with one day at a jobsite and another at the office. They asked about rebar sizes, construction processes, and engineering BIM stuff. You gotta show your communication skills and be ready for challenges like walking around project sites and dealing with their circumstances. Willingness to travel is optional. For interns, they put you on a project near you and give you a stipend.

I had my interview at the Pasadena office. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview because they were really friendly. They seemed more interested in getting to know me as a person rather than just my technical abilities. Company culture was a big thing they talked about.
