Pandora Product Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

There were 3 rounds. First was HR, then Senior PA, and finally Director + PM. The first 30 min was about my resume. The second 30 min was about product sense. The third was 3 separate 30 min interviews including a case study.

I applied online and a few days later got a call for a phone interview. The recruiter seemed unprepared and hadn't read my resume, even asking some out-of-line personal questions. I was then invited for an in-person interview with an analyst, but the interviewer didn't show up, and I waited for 3 hours. It was unclear what the recruiter wanted; the interview focused on why I wasn't pursuing other paths like consulting or data analysis. They offered another round, but I declined, feeling it was a waste of time. I used to like Pandora, but this experience left a really bad impression.

The whole process took about a month. I applied with a referral and HR contacted me the same night. The next day, I had an HR screening call which was a quick chat about why I want to work at Pandora and my experience. They left time for questions, and I asked about the team. I got another email about 1.5 weeks later to schedule a call with the hiring manager. This interview was more focused on my skills but was still casual. The hiring manager ended with a case study question and I had time to ask about the team and role. A week later, I received a data case study prompt to create a presentation for the "Pandora CTO". It included data sets and questions on displaying metrics, plus table schemas for a SQL question. I was told they would set up a call to walk me through the exercise. I misunderstood and thought it was an in-person presentation setup call, but it was actually the presentation itself over the phone. I was unprepared and hadn't finished the exercise, but had a good conversation with the interviewer. I didn't move on due to this mistake. Overall, the experience was good, and the team seemed driven and personable. I wish HR had been clearer that the data exercise presentation would be over the phone.
