I first applied through a LinkedIn posting. After a couple of weeks, a recruiter called me for a preliminary phone screen. She mentioned I'd meet the hiring manager, but he was on leave for 3-4 weeks. I heard from the hiring manager about 4-5 weeks later, and he set up an in-person interview for the following week. The hiring manager wanted to meet at a bar for the interview, which was unusual. He was dressed casually, had no interview materials, and ordered two beers during our hour-long conversation. He seemed to be getting intoxicated, slurring his words and flushing. I tried to steer the interview by asking about the job and the company, but his answers weren't relevant. I offered him my pen and paper, but he declined, saying my resume was sufficient. I sent a thank you email that evening and followed up a couple of weeks later, but received no response. The position is still open.

Behavioral Presentation

Standard interview process, was internally referred. Started with a recruiter call about me, my background, and any questions about the position/company. Then a call with the hiring manager where they went into more detail about the position, sales process, company/team culture, and compensation. After that, an onsite interview with 4 people at different levels (2, then 1, then 1), all about 20 mins each. First were the manager and a colleague, then an overseeing manager, then a VP. They were all nice, personable, and wanted to get to know me, asking good questions about handling setbacks and challenges. The next round would have been a 10-min phone presentation using material they'd send, to see how I am on the phone and handle material/objections. Unfortunately, the job went to an internal candidate before I could do the last step.

Behavioral

I had a really bad time interviewing at Pandora Radio. After applying for a sales role, I made it to the final round with the hiring manager. He seemed really uninterested and basically told me I wasn't a good fit. He even said I'd get bored there and was overqualified, which was weird since I have a lot of experience in advertising sales and thought I'd be good for the job. It was confusing and unprofessional not to even talk to me about my background. The hiring manager's dismissive attitude left a really negative impression, and I wouldn't want to work for a company that treats candidates like that.
