Assistant Manager
The waiting was the hardest part because I was so nervous. But it was a pretty easy interview process with questions you'd expect when working with teams and customers. My interviewer was a great listener, so don't be afraid to share your whole life story and connect it to Panda Express. I'm starting my job preview next week. If you feel like you've got the job, then you probably do!
- In five to ten years, where do you envision yourself?
Senior Manager
Really interesting and quite unusual interview process, but it was long. Took about 3 months from start to finish and involved lots of chats with different folks at the company. It began with a recruiter reaching out. After a couple of discussions, I then spoke with the hiring manager. Following that, I traveled to Rosemead, California for a full day of interviews with the rest of the team. The Panda team members are very welcoming, friendly, and genuinely interested in knowing you as a person. They require you to attend the Landmark Forum, which pushes you to explore and address deep personal issues, which might be uncomfortable for some. Just be aware of that and make sure to set your own boundaries. Also, be advised that you won't receive anything in writing or confirmation until you complete the Landmark Forum training. In the end, I decided the job and the company culture weren't the right fit for me, but it might be for you!
- Are you open to participating in the Landmark Forum?
- What's your approach to building trust?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 5 years?
Restaurant Manager
The interview process was a bit unprofessional, though not terrible. They rescheduled the first interview twice. The email and text communications indicated English wasn't their first language, which made the interview harder. The first interview was over video, further complicating communication. The second interview also had communication issues. I was asked to do the second interview via phone video chat, which required me to constantly adjust my phone's angle. While this might sound like complaining, it genuinely made the interview more challenging for me. Apart from these communication hurdles, the questions were standard.
- Can you tell me who your top employee is and explain your reasoning?
- Who would you consider your second best employee, and why?
- And who is your third best employee, along with your justification?
