First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pan Atlantic.
Public Relations Manager
This was a four-step interview. First, a one-on-one meeting. Then, a full day on-site work day, which could be walking door to door or working at a location to make sales. Most people can't handle it after 3-4 hours. After that, another one-on-one to continue the day. It's very demanding on your feet, and they're upfront that you'll be doing this for 6 months before getting a desk job. The company is part of a larger umbrella, with about six other teams doing the same work in the same office for the same person.
- What are three things you would use to describe yourself?
Marketing
I had a second interview that was supposed to be from 11 AM to 6 PM. The first part of the day felt normal, but then they had me travel to a different area to join them for door-to-door sales. I was with them until late at night, 9:45 PM. During this time, I experienced people yelling at me, doors being slammed in my face, and even had the police called on me. It turned out this isn't a marketing company at all; it's a door-to-door sales role.
- What makes you want this role over a typical 9-to-5 position?
Customer Service Representative
I went in for a quick interview, around 5 minutes, where they explained it was a training program for managers for new branches they wanted to open. They said I'd have a second round interview. For that second round, I was put with a current employee and a group of other people, and we took the subway to Brooklyn. Once there, we split up and went door to door asking people to sign up to donate to clean water efforts in some place. People had to give their credit card info because cash wasn't accepted. From the start, I was told to ask a lot of questions. Every time I asked about salary or pay, they'd brush it off. After lunch, I found out the base pay was only about $200 a week, with the rest being commission. I thanked the interviewer and left.
- What are your aspirations?
Administrative Role
You show up at 1pm and meet someone for 1 minute who tells you to come back the next day. The next day, you sit with someone who tells you about the work. They said they'd call you, but they didn't. It was a waste of time and transportation money.
- Can you describe your relevant experience?
