It seems like a great company with some really good people. I liked the mission and it seemed like everyone truly wanted to accelerate the transition to clean tech. The overall interview process was long but understandably so, as they are trying to find a solid fit for a specific role.

It was a standard process with typical questions. Involved a recruiter, hiring manager, and stakeholders. The initial recruiter contact was weak; they seemed uninformed about the role, its responsibilities, and even the customer base, making the position seem uninteresting. However, a conversation with the hiring manager clarified things significantly. The recruiter left mid-interview and the subsequent steps felt disorganized. I had a second 1:1 which went okay. The VP committed to a follow-up, as anticipated, but I never received any communication from the recruiter or the recruiting department despite following up twice. This was completely unprofessional. Given the current challenges in the solar industry (e.g., Pink Energy), the company might be facing difficulties, but the lack of professionalism was still apparent.

The whole thing started with a recruiter chat, just a basic call with some standard industry terms. Then, I had a 45-minute technical chat with their leadership team. They asked about what tech is best for certain problems and drilled down into specifics about the tech they use. After that, I got a homework task which I had a couple of days to finish. They gave me a problem and a list of tech to use, and I had to document my solution, explain it, and provide an architecture diagram. Next up was a 1-hour technical interview with two engineers. We reviewed my homework solution, and I had to do a live coding session where I adjusted my app based on new requirements they threw at me. They also threw a couple of quick coding puzzles at me, like 'fizzbuzz', to see how I handle pressure. Finally, there was a 30-minute non-technical chat with an investor, mostly to see if I'd be a good cultural fit for the company.
