First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Palm Restaurants.
Server/Waiter
The interview process was pretty easy. I arrived, had my interview, and was hired on the spot after it finished and I accepted the job. There wasn't a second interview; I only had the one.
- What's your motivation for wanting this job?
Assistant General Manager
I applied internally for the AGM role and didn't hear back from HR at all, not even to say they were looking at other people. It felt like they weren't considering me. The CFO came to our location to discuss the position, but it felt like a formality, like they had already decided to go with someone else.
- Could you tell me about your experience that you believe would be advantageous for this position?
Server
First, I had an interview with the Assistant General Manager. Then, I went back for a second interview with the General Manager where we talked about the food industry and what I could bring to the table if hired. I also had to take a short wine quiz and a food quiz.
- What makes you want to join The Palm?
- How would you contribute to our team?
- Tell me about your background in the food industry.
Server
I first spoke with the general manager about my past jobs, and they asked about my food and wine expertise. After that, I had a second meeting with the AGM, who asked pretty much the same things. Then, a week later, they called me for orientation.
- Tell me about your food and wine knowledge.
