I applied in store and right away had an interview set up with the ASM. We went through questions like 'how did you handle a situation when...' and 'tell me about a time you...'. After that, I had to sell a product to him after getting a few minutes to look it over. Once that interview was over, I got scheduled for an interview with the main manager. His interview involved reviewing the questions I asked and I also had to pitch him products. After passing that interview, I got a paper to take a drug test. He called me after he got the drug test results and offered me a position as a sales lead.

Basic interview with a twist. We covered my previous experience, especially my former sales and customer service experience. They really like curve ball questions... what was your worst employer like, what was a difficult situation you had with a customer / coworker. They were very interested in your personal tanning experience, whether or not you buy lotion when you tan (the answer to this will MAKE OR BREAK your interview). You will be asked to sell tanning lotion to your interviewer.... remember to ask for the sale!

- Given that I know nothing about tanning or tanning lotion ingredients, I fumbled, but what I lacked in knowledge I made for in enthusiasm. The ingredients are hard to pronounce, just work with what you know and make sure to talk about how it will benefit the consumer, lots of descriptive words like luxurious, amazing color, etc.
