Brand Marketing Manager
The job description and what the hiring manager was looking for were completely different. The hiring manager was reading my resume while we talked, so it seems like HR was the only one who did any screening. After asking super broad questions, he told me I didn't have the right experience. There was no chance to talk it over because it was clear I wasn't meeting some expectation. Maybe he thought he didn't waste my time, but I already wasted over a week preparing. It's better to get to know the candidate, treat them like a person, and then have HR politely say no. We're all human, and no matter how fancy the company thinks it is, if they can't treat people decently, it's worthless.
- Can you share an example of a campaign that exceeded your expectations in terms of success?
Pricing Manager
So I applied and then the hiring manager reached out within about a week to set up a time to chat. It was this panel interview with all the pricing managers and the VP of Commercial Finance. They gave a good overview of the department and explained the role in detail. We also talked about my background and experience. The whole thing went for about an hour.
- Describe how you would manage a scenario where a sales manager is in opposition to your pricing suggestion. What actions would you perform to work together and arrive at a shared agreement?
State Manager
It was a 5-stage interview process, which included a panel presentation and interview. Some questions were repeated across interviews, but generally, the interviewers were polite and professional. Even though the process took 4 weeks, it was a good experience.
- Can you describe a time when you had to change direction on a critical project while it was underway?
Account Manager
Applied and had a quick HR call. Then immediately interviewed with the hiring manager. It was a pleasant chat mostly about my background and job duties. The experience was nice until I was completely ignored by both HR and the hiring manager. It would have been better to get a message that they chose another candidate. The lack of a reply says a lot.
- What makes you want to join this company?
