I did a timed coding test first, and even though I didn't finish it perfectly because I ran out of time on some edge cases, I still got an interview. The phone interview was about 30-45 minutes and didn't have any technical questions. They asked about my resume, what interests me at university, and projects I've worked on. They told me the reason I didn't get the position was lack of experience, even though I was traveling at the start of the internship program.

So, I had this interview which was basically just a quick phone call with a really nice employee. It all started when I met this recruiter at a career fair, and it turned out he also studied GIS, just like me. He told me to apply for an internship. After we emailed back and forth a bit, I got referred to another person on the recruiting/HR/hiring team, and we scheduled what they called the 'first round' interview. Honestly, the chat felt a bit too short, and the recruiter seemed a bit rushed. It wasn't a terrible experience or anything, but I got this vibe that he wasn't super into chatting with me, which was kinda weird since the GIS guy from the career fair was really hyped about my background.

Started with a phone screen asking general background questions. Then I had an onsite where I met with multiple people. Throughout the day, they mostly asked the same questions like 'tell us about your background' and 'what's the largest event you have planned.' It was tough because there were no breaks and it was a full day of interviews repeating the same thing, so by the end, it was easy to have a well-rehearsed spiel. One interview was during lunch and a tour of the grounds.
