First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Palantir Economic Solutions.
Software Engineer Intern
Had a quick call with HR. They mostly asked about my interest in Palantir and software engineering in general. We did a question and answer session, and they checked my familiarity with the process. After that, they told me about the next steps, like submitting my CV and the technical assessment.
- Tell me what you know about Palantir.

I had an interview. The HR person was really unprofessional, but everyone else was helpful. It started with two phone interviews. Then came an assignment, plus two aptitude tests (maths and diagram matching). The final stage was a 3-hour face-to-face interview. The HR manager said Stage 3 would only be two interviews, but it actually included 3 tests I wasn't told about and 3 long interviews: two non-numerical and numerical tests, an interview with the QA Manager, an interview with the Development Manager, and an interview with one of the Firm's Partners. I waited a month to hear back, then had to contact them myself to find out about my application.
- Regarding finding a file within a large collection of files, how would you approach this?
- Given a diagram showing 3 client terminals, an SQL server, and a .NET server, please analyze it and state the types of testing you would conduct.
- Please discuss various testing types including security, functional, non-functional, stress, load, and installation testing.

Had a phone interview first, then two in-person interviews. Each in-person interview had two different team members. There was also an aptitude test which was more like an IQ test with patterns and sequences. After that, I got to the final round of interviews but didn't get the job in the end. They were really open about the whole process and gave me more details on why than most places do.
- Can you describe a time you had a conflict with a coworker or boss, and how you handled it?
Consultant
The recruiter reached out fast after I applied and we had a first call about my background. Then came aptitude tests and an Excel exercise. Everything went fine. After that, I didn't hear back from the recruiter. I tried to follow up, but got no reply. It wasn't very professional. The Palantir hiring team should be more involved.
- Were there any particularly challenging questions?
