First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PADI.
Software Engineer
It started with an HR call, then a phone interview. The whole interview focused on Google interview questions without any problem-solving, and it was quite subjective. The first question was: "Did you read the job description, we need someone who knows AWS."
- Regarding the job description, did you notice our need for someone with AWS knowledge?
- Could you explain the purpose of ViewBag in MVC?
- What are the functions within global.ascx?
Travel Consultant
I applied online with cover, resume and a lengthy application/questionnaire form. Then I received a 2nd questionnaire via email, which had a lot of repetition in work history. After submitting the second set of questions, I was contacted immediately and asked to be available over the weekend for an interview but that person did not follow up. Someone else asked to interview me the following week and called me while I was working in the reservation department taking phone calls. The job was advertised as remote, but that was not the case, they wanted someone to be in the office immediately. As I tried to explain the job was advertised as remote but that I was still interested, I was cut short for a client sales call. I tried to ask a question to find out more, but was not allowed any more time. The interview was so unprofessional and the whole experience showed a complete lack of respect for interviewees' time and effort. For these reasons, I decided not to follow up with this company.
- Can you start within one week?
Marketing Specialist
I applied by sending my resume via email and heard back from the hiring manager a few days later. We arranged an interview, which went really well. They asked about my previous work, my college major, and my reasons for wanting to join the company. The following week, I got a call saying I didn't get the job, but they'd keep me in mind for future openings. A few days after that, HR called to say the initial candidate turned down the offer, so the job was mine!
- What is your understanding of our company?
- Can you share details about your previous work experiences?
- What subjects were you pursuing during your college studies?
Graphic Designer
Had a call to set up an interview for the next day. Met with HR and the Creative Director. The interview started about 15 minutes late. They spent time looking at my portfolio. We talked about my process and the results of my work. The meeting was pretty laid back and it felt like a good connection.
- Which illustrators do you like?
- Tell me about your design process.
- What was the outcome of your projects?
