Product Manager
I got the impression of poor work-life balance, needing to stay up late for Chinese coworkers, travel up to 1 week/month to clients (CPO bragged about France trip, seemed lacking empathy), travel to China often to see software engineers, and needing fluent Chinese. The strategy was unclear, vague, and rapidly shifting, leading to a 'build trap' with too many features and no strategy. It felt like I'd work like a slave for them to live like kings. They also didn't treat candidates with respect: farming for ideas, CPO was rude and impatient, pay was low for a staff role, and the toughest interviewers were at the end instead of the beginning. The only good part was a nice recruiter.
- Design the next big thing for e-commerce merchants to optimize their listings. But hey! No, we're not farming you for ideas! Believe me *wink* *giggle*
CRM Manager
I went through 5 interviews: first with Human Resources, then with the Team Director, then the Global Director, and afterwards with Account Managers. I didn't make it to the final interview, which was supposed to be with another Account Manager from a parallel team.
- What motivated you to choose Padvue?
- Could you share one strength and one weakness of your profile?
- Given the ad types in the Amazon Advertising Console, what is the most effective way you would advise a client to allocate budget investment across these types for Prime Day? Please describe your process and provide examples if necessary.
Customer Onboarding Manager
It was a long process, but overall good experience until the final meeting with senior leadership. Both were over five minutes late and made it obvious they didn't even open my resume until getting on the call with me. One consistently rushed and talked over me, too. Had a scheduled "next steps" call for a week later that was basically a thirty second rejection. For what it's worth, the actual position itself and onboarding team seemed nice. But I think I would rather be ghosted than go through that again.
- Can you tell me about your experience in a client-facing role within e-commerce?
Product Manager
I chatted with a bunch of director/VP types, plus the CEO and CPO. It was a good time. This job involves a lot of travel and late nights, and you gotta speak Mandarin. I thought I was a good fit and answered everything well, but no offer came through. I know a bunch of Amazon sellers who rave about Pacvue, so I'm guessing this role, including the travel, is pretty sought-after and appealing. The process went smoothly, and everyone was nice. I'd totally interview again if I got the chance.
- Can you design a product for XYZ?
