First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pacific University.
Student Worker
The interview process wasn't too long and the interviewer was really nice. They were interested in your personal skills. My advice for anyone wanting to get this job is to participate in a lot of extracurricular activities.
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Program Assistant
So, this department was a bit different, they actually called my references before calling me for an interview (which was kinda interesting). I was then invited for an in-person interview about two weeks later. During the interview, I met with the department team, and it was a panel interview with about six people. The department director also joined via Skype. They asked typical interview questions like 'what is your strongest work trait' and 'discuss a time you dealt with a difficult situation at work'. After the interview, they said they'd let me know in a few days, but I never heard back, which was weird. I'm not sure if they just didn't fill the role because the previous program assistant was still listed on their website, or if I just bombed the interview. The mystery continues!
- How would you describe your organizational style?
Graduate Student
the interviewers were organized, personable, and friendly, just what you'd expect for a grad school interview. They asked some basic stuff about me and why I wanted to study audiology, my interests, and my previous experiences.
- What would your friends say about you?
Librarian
It was a quick process, they just asked a few questions. My experience might not be the norm, but it went like this: first a phone chat, then I went in person to interview. The in-person part was really brief.
