So first, I had a quick phone call, then it went on to three more interviews. These were all Zoom meetings with some of the leaders and managers there. It was pretty relaxed and nice. Just the usual interview questions.

I interviewed with a bunch of people there and got to know the company well before I joined. The hiring process was pretty fast and I'm still happy I joined PPM two years ago.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

The interview process involved the owner and an external consultant. The owner was great, but the consultant's questions felt robotic. He even asked if I had questions, implying he had more, which felt odd for a two-way interview. He was reluctant to answer some of my questions. I emphasized my desire to delve into details and build a team, and how the role should help establish levers and KPIs for business growth. The recruiter later stated they passed because they wanted someone to "get into the weeds," which confused me given my background (Netsuite, CPA, MBA, 25+ years experience, team building, SOX, consulting, interim CFO work). I'm questioning why the process stopped after meeting the consultant, perhaps he's biased against me bringing my own team? He also expressed a lack of belief in travel for business, despite the role requiring monthly travel. The company's culture regarding diversity and inclusion seems questionable.

The questions were pretty standard, not really probing in a way that showed they were open-minded. It felt more like a checklist than a real conversation. I got the offer, but the interview process could have been much better. The hiring manager led most of the interview instead of letting his team members talk.
