Went through an interview process for a medical professional role. Started with a recruiter screen call, then a phone chat about the job with a staff member. The next step was a site visit to tour the facilities and meet the team, and they did cover travel for that, which was nice. After sending a thank you note post-visit, I haven't heard anything back, which is pretty disappointing given I rearranged my travel plans for it. Most other recruiters I've dealt with kept me in the loop, even if it didn't work out.

I applied for a per diem Medical Assistant Position and it took about 6 weeks to hear from anyone because the resumes don't go directly to the hiring manager but to the Providence Centralized Recruiting unit. They pre-screen potential candidates for the positions and then send it to the hiring manager for review. Providence Recruiting team will also call you to set up the appointment. You don't talk to the hiring manager until the day the interview. Then if they like you, you will go for a second interview.

It was a 30 minute phone call, then a 60 minute in person chat, and then another 30 minute in person chat. The whole thing took like 6 months, which felt like way too long, even though everyone was super nice about it. After the longer in-person meeting, I talked to HR about the salary and benefits, which was good to know upfront, but made that day's interviews stretch to 3 hours. I had to take the whole day off work because it was smack in the middle of the day.
