This offshore role had a hiring process that was different from what I'm used to. Instead of the usual one or two interviews, I spoke with three people. It was cool because I got to chat with one of the senior materials guys directly on the rig, which doesn't usually happen. The three interviewers were from different parts of the world and had different jobs: a recruiter from HR in Singapore, the rig storekeeper, and the supply chain director from the main office in Houston. They were all really professional, gave me good insights, and answered my questions well, while also asking some solid questions themselves. Since then, they've moved quickly and thoroughly with my physical and occupational testing, and the hiring and benefits paperwork. There's a lot of paperwork involved, but they've been super helpful in making it as easy as possible. Their communication is also top-notch, always quick and clear.

Pacific has an interview process similar to most companies. It begins with a non-technical phone call interview with HR. This is followed by a technical interview, which is a conference call with the heads of departments onboard your assigned rig. Finally, there is a phone interview with the shore-based Technical Superintendent. This process is for maintenance roles.

I interviewed with 5 managers from different functions that the role would collaborate with. The interview was going very well until I met with the VP. He presented a difficult case study that someone without a finance background might struggle with if they weren't trained in it.

I talked to my future manager. It was a really good interview, and they got straight to the point about what they were looking for, which was my experience. Honestly, it was one of the best interviews I've been through.
