First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pacific College of Health and Science.
Community Relations Manager
So I applied on the careers page and the direct leadership for the role reached out to me via email expressing interest. They sent me about 10 questions about how I would work in the role and I sent 1-2 paragraph answers for each. Then we had a zoom meeting for about an hour where we discussed my answers and got more details about the position. They said they were interested in hiring me and wanted to run me past the CEO first. So next we did another zoom meeting with both of them. That lasted about 30 minutes and at the end of the call they said they were interested in hiring me. That week I received a job offer from their HR department.
- Audit their current platforms and explain how you'd make them better in this role.
- Explain how you would improve other aspects of their company.
- What opportunities do you think they are missing out on that you could tackle?
Clinic Receptionist
It was a really professional interview process. Two supervisors were the ones interviewing me. They asked the usual interview questions and also went into detail about the job duties. They were very clear about what the job entails. All in all, it was a good interview.
- How would you manage a patient who is unhappy?
Admissions Representative
A recruiter from a headhunting firm reached out to me about a position, noting my specific background and potential for future leadership. We had an initial phone call, followed by a Skype call and subsequent phone conversations to outline the interview process. The recruiter mentioned the typical starting salary of around $45K, with a $5K increase after six months. The in-person stage involved interviews with the campus director, head of admissions, and another admissions representative. This was followed by a second meeting with just the campus director. I received a job offer via phone, with confirmation that I would seek a salary higher than my current one. They later provided the salary details, which I accepted. I did not receive any of the requested information before making my decision, nor an offer letter or contract despite asking. The recruiter maintained regular contact, updating me on my status and relaying information from the company. Unfortunately, I resigned from my current role based solely on a verbal job offer from PCOM.
- I was asked to read a phone script, with the head of admissions role-playing as a prospective student.
Office Assistant
I met with the Campus Director first to discuss the role, my background, and my availability. I think showing my enthusiasm for the school and asking thoughtful questions helped me move forward. The meeting felt comfortable and relaxed, and arriving early was apparently a plus. Then, I had a second interview with other staff members. They asked similar questions to gauge my personality and see how I'd fit in with the team.
