This was a clunky and unorganized interview process. The initial recruiter screener was very demanding, asking for multiple meetings. The recruiter was late for the call and rushed through it, avoiding questions about the organization's experience, and failing to articulate the vision, mission, or value proposition. This experience suggests a toxic organization with weak leadership. HR/recruiters should be able to communicate the organization's values. This was the most ridiculous screening call I've ever had. It's odd they respond to negative reviews, but they should get clear on their 'why', build self-awareness, and be open to thoughtful people who can improve the company.

The hiring process at Pacaso is a collaborative journey that will test your endurance. It started with a 20-30 minute phone interview to discuss the role, Pacaso's values, and the hiring process. This call gave insight into the company's personalities. I appreciated the interviewer's tone and for listening to my ideas on how to tackle the role's responsibilities. After the phone interview, a fun writing sample question was requested. Following the phone interview phase, expect a week of Zoom interviews with various Pacaso team members. Each interview involved further questions about your professional background and answers about the role and company. Pacaso's equitable hiring practice is woven into the recruitment process. I strongly encourage you to apply and join the crew!

Behavioral Presentation

i spoke to each of the key stakeholders over 6 rounds of interview. all but the presentation interview were 30 min long. they were not like an interrogation and each person just wanted to get to know me and my experience. i interviewed with several other places at the same time and feel like we went through all 6 at a reasonable pace. it never took long to hear back about next steps, which i really appreciated. they were also very quick on the turn around time for an offer. the best part was that the recruiter was genuinely concerned about me and my experience.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

I was super excited about Pacaso at first - cool concept, tons of potential, and the role seemed like a great fit for my background. They mentioned in the first interview they wanted to hire fast, within weeks. A week later was my second interview, which went great. Another week passed, and my third interview also went well, and they said an In-Person interview was next. Then, nothing for 8 days, which was weird. I followed up, and they apologized and scheduled a fourth interview. That also went well, and again, they said an In-Person interview was next. Six days later, still no word, so I followed up about next steps. They apologized again, scheduled an In-Person interview, but also asked me to do a Take Home Test with minimal guidance. After submitting the test, I had the In-Person interview. Post-interview, they told me I'd hear back by the end of that week (two days away). Eight days later, I got a generic email saying they chose another candidate. No feedback was provided. In total, it was 6 interviews and a Test over 7 weeks. Honestly, it felt pretty unprofessional, and it soured me on the company and its leadership, which is a shame because I genuinely think it has huge potential.
