First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at P97 Networks.
Software Engineer
The hiring manager reached out on LinkedIn. First, I had a phone screen with a recruiter. Then, a follow-up interview with a software engineer happened, but it was super disorganized because they didn't even know what role I applied for. After that, I had an in-person technical interview with a principal software engineer, who was actually really nice and respectful. The plan was a final interview with the hiring manager. We had to reschedule a bunch of times, and they even stood me up a few times, but eventually, we spoke. They made it sound like an offer was coming. I was told I'd hear back in a week, but weeks went by. I had to chase them multiple times, and each time they just said, 'Sorry, I'll reach out soon.' In the end, I was just ghosted.

- What about this role or this kind of work interests you?
QA
I interviewed with the director and team lead for the QA team in a whiteboard interview. This was unexpected since I wasn't applying for a developer role and was told they'd train interns, so I wasn't prepared and didn't manage my expectations. You should prepare yourself because I was wrongly confident. The director was double booked, so I had to rush. If this happens, don't feel pressured when they say 'you have 10 minutes to show us what you've got' rudely. I almost left. At the end, I asked 'Given my position as a QA Intern what is the biggest problem P97 faces that I would be able to help solve?' They responded with 'you still haven't even answered my question yet,' which was insulting as they prompted me to ask it. They never answered my question or gave me a chance to answer theirs. Then I was told I failed their test and thanked for coming. If you want any position here, have thick skin and expect to be treated poorly. I was dressed professionally and remained polite despite their toxic behavior.
- Can you write C# code based on what I've put on the whiteboard?
- How would you approach testing a signin screen?
VP Product Management
I got a call from HR for a pre-screen and they set up a face-to-face interview. The HR person was nice but didn't know anything about tech. I thought I'd interview with the CEO or execs, but I interviewed with the COO who wasn't technical at all. He asked me how I got my knowledge and skills, and about past work, but didn't get what I was talking about. Then a project manager who was lower ranked came in and said I was overqualified.
- How did you acquire all your knowledge and skill sets?
- Can you tell me about some of your previous work?
Data Analyst
It was an easy process, not super technical, mostly focused on whether you'd be a good fit. If you come prepared with examples of how you used their tech stack in past roles, the interview should go well. Having previous consulting or project management experience also helps.
- Tell me why you believe you are a strong candidate for this position.
