First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OZON.ru.
Software Engineer
Started with a 30 min screening call. Then had a 1h tech interview that involved a code review (look at a merge request, find issues and suggest fixes), some Go questions, and a live coding task where I had to implement a worker pool in Go. Finally, a 1h system design interview where the task was to design Twitter.
- Regarding memory usage, is it possible for a process to exceed 100%, say, reach 150%?
- Could you review the provided merge request, identify any issues, and suggest potential solutions?
- We will ask some questions related to Go. Are you ready?
Software Engineer
So the interview process involved me answering some questions about my past work experience. Then there were some technical questions on Java, databases, and protocols. I also had to solve a coding problem which was similar to the max backpack capacity problem and could be solved using a greedy strategy.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- What are your thoughts on Java?
- What is your knowledge of databases?
Software Development Engineer
It was a two-stage process. The first stage was a technical screening, which was pretty easy. The second stage was more in-depth, covering Golang, databases, and architecture. Some of the questions in the second stage were code-specific to the company, but they were also easy.
- Can you tell me about Golang?
- Do you have experience with databases?
- What are your thoughts on system architecture?
