Product Manager
This was one of the best interview experiences I've had. No AI HR, just real people who actually contacted me. The process involved 3 interviews: a phone screen, an in-person meeting with the hiring managers, and a final round with both the hiring managers and the CEO. The HR team was super responsive throughout the whole thing: I applied on LinkedIn, and HR texted me. They kept me in the loop about the process, did a thorough reference check (contacting 3 previous managers), and the hiring managers were really clear about when I'd hear back. In total, from the first contact to accepting the offer, it took about a month. They really kept things moving.
- Can you share your thoughts on a given existing problem, without needing to provide a solution?
Sales Leader
The interview with the hiring manager was really good and they seemed to put a lot of thought into it. They were engaged, and at one point when I was having trouble with a question, they changed it up so they could still get the info they needed but also give me a chance to do well. This person seemed like someone I would want to work for and learn from.
- Could you share your preferred sales methodology, such as Sandler or Meddic?
Customer Service Representative
First, I got an email to do two assessments, which I did and they said I was amazing. Then we set up a phone interview, but the recruiter was late. I emailed him after waiting 20 minutes and he said to reschedule. During the phone interview, he didn't introduce himself or the company and just asked about my experience. I asked him to tell me more about the job, but he said he'd email me the details. There's a week between each step, and it's been a month since I applied and still no interview. The company might be great, but they need a recruiter who will follow up and care about people's time, especially if they want to grow.
- What made you apply for this job?
Client Support Specialist
I applied on their website and got an automated confirmation, which was nice. The recruiter called me within two days for a 20-minute phone chat about the job, company, my background, and why I was interested. A week later, I had a 30-minute in-person meeting at their office with the recruiter and the Client Support manager. We discussed common and unique customer service situations related to OxBlue's clients. The manager focused a lot on company culture, highlighting OxBlue's trust in employees to make client-focused decisions independently, suggesting an entrepreneurial environment. I felt good about this meeting. Less than a week after that, I received two online assessments, an IQ test and a deductive reasoning test, meant to gauge problem-solving skills. Two weeks after the first in-person meeting, the recruiter scheduled a final in-person interview with the CEO, Client Support manager, and himself. It took almost four weeks to set a date for this final interview. I met with the CEO for about 35 minutes. He asked me to talk about myself, which I appreciated as it showed trust in his hiring team and a focus on the person beyond the resume. We discussed various topics like my ideal job, the company structure, and its future. It meant a lot that the CEO took the time to speak with me. After that, the Client Support manager showed me an employee doing a similar job, and I shadowed them to ask questions. Then, the recruiter and I discussed what it would take for me to accept an offer, covering benefits, my role, the company's future, and how the position compared to my other offers. The recruiter was willing to negotiate salary to match my top offer. After two and a half hours, I left, and the recruiter extended a very impressive offer that same day. While I would have eagerly accepted if I hadn't received a slightly better offer from another company in the interim, OxBlue is a great, growing company with an amazing recruiter. It was a very positive interview experience.
