Esthetician
Had a phone interview - asked about my consultation process, procedures I had done in the aesthetics industry. Overall, seems like a good opportunity for someone just getting started in aesthetics but not for more experienced. The training track would be very appealing if I was just starting, however the pay is very low compared to what I have been getting paid as an esthetician.
- Can you describe your consultation process?
Systems Administrator
I talked to the recruiter. The next day she sent an email to set up the second interview. We scheduled it for two business days later. I was told HR would get in touch in about a week. Nobody did. I emailed, left a voicemail, and emailed again. Two weeks later, I got a response saying they were still checking out applicants. Another two weeks passed and I didn't hear anything from the company.
- What unique contribution will I make to this role compared to other applicants?
Studio Manager
I was really disappointed with OVME's hiring process, especially as someone with a strong customer service and HR background. Transparency is super important, and I believe great customer service should extend to how they treat applicants. OVME's leadership talked a lot about customer service and team building, which really impressed me, but it seems like those are just words and not what they actually do. I was under the impression I'd be meeting the team and getting an offer soon. I even rearranged my holiday vacation plans and put my youngest in daycare because they assured me I'd start training in late December or early January. I followed up with the regional manager twice, and they just told me HR would contact me about the next steps. OVME really wasted my time and made me believe HR was going to reach out. It looks like this is a common issue based on other reviews. Because of this experience, I've decided to cancel my membership. If this is how they treat applicants, it makes me question their genuine care for clients. I strongly suggest OVME consider applicants' time and be more truthful in their hiring process going forward.

Studio Manager
The whole interview process took four months to complete. There were long waits between each stage. I was told multiple times that they needed to fill the position quickly. I thought I would get an offer after the hiring manager interview, based on how things were going. But I just got a generic rejection email from talent acquisition that I couldn't reply to. It was disappointing because the email said they encourage follow-up for other jobs, but it didn't really leave the door open.
- No unusual questions were asked.
