First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oversight Systems.
Client Success Manager
The hiring process started with an email from the Director of Client Success, telling me the first interview would be with the VP of Client Success. This was a bit unusual for a mid-sized company of my experience (150+ employees), as typically an initial chat is with a recruiter or HR. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. The VP asked typical questions about my background and if I'd fit the role, but the chat felt more like a transaction than a real discussion. They didn't really engage or follow up on my answers, so it was hard to tell if we were both interested. I got the vibe that maybe they just needed to check off a box for interviewing multiple candidates, rather than actually digging into my qualifications.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself and how you see yourself as a great fit for Oversight?
Information Technology Specialist
So, the interview process involved questions about my experience with security assessments, working with government clients, delivering security awareness training, and also how I've led other departments in keeping up with annual compliance. I also had to give quarterly presentations with metrics to senior leadership.
- Can you share your background with security assessments?
- Tell me about your experience working with government customers.
- How have you conducted security awareness training?
Data Analyst
The interview process started after the application and included these 4 stages in chronological order: 1) An informational/introductory interview, 2) An interview with a Director/team manager, 3) A technical skills assessment, and 4) A panel interview. Overall, it was a pretty fair & upfront process. The interviewers were knowledgeable, held various positions within the company, and were both humorous & professional!
- Tell me about your technical experience.
- What are your career growth plans?
- How do you fit with our company culture?
Product Manager
A third-party recruiter reached out about this position. The process started with a recruiter screen, then two interviews with Directors of Product Management. The last interview was with the Chief Product Officer. The Director interviews covered different things: one on PM principles and leadership, the other on situational questions and AI/ML strategy for big data products. The CPO interview was mostly about his career, not really about me or the role.
- Tell me about your experience integrating AI/ML into large-scale SaaS products.
- Walk me through a problem you faced and how you would go about finding, building, and launching a solution.
- How have you applied prioritization frameworks in product teams in the past?
