First interview was with an Engineering manager (not for the team I was interviewing for). We talked about my background, what I look for in a job, salary expectations, and why I was interested in Outschool. Then there was a technical assessment. They said it would be a practical problem their teams had faced, but it turned out to be an interval intersection question, just using their business terms. It was a LeetCode-style problem, not the React implementation I was expecting. I didn't do well on this part because I wasn't ready for that kind of question. I asked for feedback on how to improve, but they didn't give any.

I applied on LinkedIn and heard back the next day for a recruiter screen. Then, I had a 45-min technical interview with live coding. After that, the recruiter called to prep me for the virtual on-site. The on-site included a product tour, front-end, back-end, and algorithm coding interviews, plus a values/cultural fit and behavioral interview with the hiring manager. They checked my references before offering me the job. The whole thing took about a month, and Outschool was great with communication and support. Everyone was really nice and helpful, in and out of the interviews. It was a great experience!

The interview process started with a recruiter call, followed by a technical screen that involved a database design question. Then there was a long, six-hour virtual onsite which included a product tour, a culture interview, a chat with the hiring manager, and three technical interviews: two pair programming sessions and one system design interview. After the six-hour onsite, they wanted another hour-long technical interview to discuss my experience further, which was a pair programming session. Unfortunately, I didn't perform well in this final interview and was later rejected. Although the interviewers during the initial stages were nice and I enjoyed talking to the hiring manager, the interviewers in the last round seemed uninterested. The pair programming was not collaborative, and I got a bad feeling about working there. The entire process was lengthy and seemed disorganized, making me feel like my time was wasted, especially since they were trying hard to impress me while being so unorganized.
