Sales Account Executive
Started with a recruiter phone screen, then had an intro call with a Sales Manager. Next was a call with the Hiring Manager. The final call was with a member of the Sales Leadership team.
- Could you describe how you manage your sales pipeline to meet your targets?
Account Executive
The hiring manager left the Zoom interview with 5 minutes left. I waited 10 minutes, thinking it was internet issues, but got a rejection email the next day. I followed up with the recruiter about my concerns, but got no response. It appears they treat candidates however they want once they think they're useless and don't explain anything. The hiring manager's behavior is unsurprising given employee reviews.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in sales?
Account Executive
I was first contacted by a recruiter, and expressed interest, but then they went radio silent. After a few weeks, a different recruiter reached out for the first interview. They spent a lot of time talking about the company and mentioning people. Due to the company being stealth and new, they couldn't answer all my questions about confidentiality and my specific location's new office. Then came three back-to-back interviews that felt very similar, asking the same questions repeatedly. The interviewers weren't very knowledgeable about my location's new office, possibly because they were new or from different locations. The interviews felt a bit misleading, as the role sounded less like an Account Executive and more like a call center job by the end. I also never got to speak with anyone I'd be directly working with, as that would be decided later. Given the many uncertainties, I decided to withdraw my application during the final interview.
- What aspects of sales appeal to you?
