First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OTP Bank.
Architect
It was a pretty straightforward, standard interview process. I started with a recruiter chat, then moved to an in-person technical session where we had a good technical discussion, which I really liked. After that, there was a negotiation call with the hiring manager. I got the offer right after that, within a day.
- Were you able to discuss the technical problem/scenario shared before the interview?
Sustainability
I'm coming from a financial reporting background but was hoping to pivot into sustainability reporting, so I was excited when I got the chance to interview. The interview was more of a casual chat, which was a nice experience for me. The hiring manager actually contacted me directly on short notice to set up the interview, without involving HR at first. I figured they might prefer someone with prior sustainability experience, so I wasn't shocked when I didn't get the job. What did surprise me was that despite sending one follow-up email to the hiring manager, she didn't respond at all, and I eventually got an automated rejection email about two months later. I get that they can't reply to everyone personally, but after I'd already spent my time on an hour-long interview, I expected a little more than just an automated message, so that was a bit of a letdown.
- Tell me about your interest in this position.
Innovation Intern
First, they looked at my CV and motivation letter. Then, I had an online interview where I had to record videos of myself answering questions. The last round was an in-person recruitment day. I had to prepare a presentation and do some research beforehand. At the event, there was a short exercise and an Assessment Center task. In the afternoon, I had interviews for the specific positions I applied for.
- Why are you a good fit for this role?
Quantitative Analyst
So I first got a project that I had to finish in one week. I had to write a little python program for a chess problem and a 1 page essay about how I would design a trading algorithm. Then a one hour interview with 5 people, mostly about my motivation and personality, and they told be about the position. Everything was in Hungarian. There were at least 2 rounds.
- What was your favorite task at your last job?
- What motivates you to apply for this position?
- Do you feel comfortable working independently?
