First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OST.
.NET Developer
I got an initial email from HR who asked some basic screening questions. After that, they set up a technical Skype interview with two project managers and a lead developer. The interview was about 35 minutes long and I think it went well. For most of it, I was talking to one project manager, while the lead and the other PM seemed disengaged. At the end, the PM said HR would provide feedback. This was on 2/8/2019. I waited for a response, but after a week with no email from HR, I followed up. I still haven't heard back from OST Inc. about whether I was selected or rejected, which is pretty disappointing. Overall, I'd say it was a bad interview process.
- Can you explain what eager loading is?
- When retrieving data, what steps would you take to optimize it initially?
- Could you describe MVC and its functionality? Also, explain the reasons for using the MVC pattern.
SQL Database Administrator
Got a call from HR first, then went straight to an in-person interview that was 45 minutes long. No assessment or phone interview, which I thought was odd. The 45-minute interview was just about my work and the technologies I know. They didn't ask anything technical. I heard nothing back for about 4 weeks, then got an automated email saying they'd filled the position.
- Can you describe a typical day for you?
- Have you had experience with clustering, mirroring, or log shipping?
- What sorts of problems do you typically encounter?
Analyst
It was an easy interview, and the people were nice. They asked me about editing and how well I write letters. It turns out this job is really an analyst role and doesn't have much to do with writing correspondence. You should negotiate pay like you would for an analyst, not for correspondence. Knowing this ahead of time would help with salary.

Recruiter
The hiring process was super fast, which made me think they really needed to fill this role ASAP. The recruiting team was really nice to talk to. I felt like some interviewers might not realize how they seem to candidates, or maybe they just don't care.
- So, have you checked out the Glassdoor reviews?
- Just so you know, those reviews are up because we terminate employees.
