First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Osmo.
Lab Associate
The interview process felt like a complete waste of time and paid time off. They were not upfront about the pay, which is a serious issue. The job description listed a salary range of $75,000 - $85,000. However, during the interview, they stated that this position typically pays between $18-$24 an hour, which is a huge discrepancy. To make matters worse, I received a rejection letter that confirmed I had applied and interviewed for the $75K - $85K Lab Associate role. This whole experience was very unprofessional and potentially illegal.
- In a group setting, do you prefer to be the person with the most knowledge or the person with the least?
Scientist
The process was really unprofessional and rude. They made me wait for thirty minutes. They asked totally irrelevant questions that weren't related to the job. I don't think I could work in such a negative environment. I got a sense of a negative and toxic work atmosphere, so I decided to decline the offer.

Channel Marketing Manager
Started with a recruiter call, then a hiring manager call. Then I went in for in-person interviews with about five people, including the CEO. They really seemed focused on getting the product on store shelves, which felt a bit out of touch given that most business is online and retail shelf space is costly. They also didn't seem to know the typical terms used in retail advertising, which was weird. It'll be interesting to see if the product succeeds given their marketing strategy and lack of retail ad knowledge.
- Can you describe a product and outline a marketing plan for it?
Software Developer
Had an initial non-technical call and then a follow-up hour-long phone screen that was split between technical and resume questions. After that, I came in for about 5 one-hour interviews with various people. For this game developer role, 3 of the interviews were technical whiteboard sessions, one focused on game design aspects, and the last one was about general fit and company culture.
- Can you describe a challenging game design problem you encountered on a past project?
- What led to this challenge arising?
- What factors contributed to its difficulty?
