I applied through a recruiter. The recruiter talked about the rate, and my background and experience. Then they arranged an interview with one of the team members. Said they'd give me feedback ASAP. No feedback, asked recruiter, no reply.

The interview process was a bit awkward. I arrived 10 minutes early, but the interviewer was 15 minutes late. A major issue with this company is their standard questions for contract roles: availability, pay rate, interview availability, start date, etc. What I found most annoying was the pay rate negotiation. I discussed with the recruiter and stated my lowest acceptable rate was $x.xx per hour. After the interviews, I was offered the position, but then the recruiter came back saying my pay rate exceeded their upper limit and asked if I could reduce it by $5/hr. It made me question why I went through the interview process.

A recruiter reached out via email and phone. Then, there were supposed to be two technical interviews where I'd share my screen and solve problems. The first one had the interviewer no-show, then reschedule, and then reschedule again. The second one had to change the interviewer and topics last minute. Finally, there was supposed to be a client interview with their project lead. But, the company wanted me to guarantee I'd accept an offer before this interview. I wasn't comfortable with that. They then started offering more money, help with taxes, a relocation package, and even help finding my girlfriend a job, but I still had to commit to them first. I got them to give me more time, but I eventually stopped the process. The whole thing felt like a sales pitch, with constant contact and them claiming to represent a big client. It was an interesting opportunity, but their candidate treatment made me hesitant.

It started with an email, then I had a call with a recruiter to go over my resume. A week later, there was a video meeting with technical questions. They said I should brush up on my tech skills during that week.
