First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Osborn Engineering.
Mechanical Director
We had some zoom calls, and then after that, we did in person interviews over a few weeks. Osborn has a great interview process as their approach allows a candidate to understand the inner working of the company.
- How do you deal with HR related issues?
Lighting Designer
It was a standard interview process with the hiring manager, department head, and lead designer. What got me was that I clearly stated my background and salary expectations in the application. They rejected me saying they didn't want someone with my background and salary. Why interview me when my resume already stated what I did? It felt like they interviewed me just to insult my background and skill set.
- What kind of light do you like the most?
Project Assistant
First you have a call with HR, then a meeting in person or on Zoom with the director and manager. The next step is a tour of the office. Depending on the location you're interviewing at, they might bring in another Project Assistant for the interview.
- Do you have prior experience in a construction or engineering company?
Structural Engineer
Had a group interview with department heads from Florida and one from corporate. It was a standard interview covering academic and work background. The whole process was just one interview. They interviewed me for a specific position, but the role ended up being totally different from what we talked about.
