Advisor Support Representative
It was a good interview. I talked with the interviewer, and she told me a bit about the job and asked me some questions. The interview wasn't very long. The best part was getting hired after just one interview, unlike other companies where you usually have 3-4 rounds, which is what I expected. Overall, it was a great experience.
- How do you manage to stay organized when you have a lot of tasks or deadlines to handle at once?
Process Analyst
The interviewer came across as patronizing and somewhat dismissive, despite us having very similar professional backgrounds. Oddly, there seemed to be a lack of confidence in my ability to do a job I’ve already done (just with different tools) and despite us having nearly identical skill sets/career pathing. I have many years worth of working in regulatory environments with well-known names in financial services yet that didn't seem to have mattered to this individual. The interview left me with the impression that the team is not invested in properly onboarding capable candidates who don't check every box tool-for-tool. It felt less like a conversation about potential and more like gatekeeping.

Finance Manager
It was a pretty standard process. First, I had an initial phone interview with an internal recruiter. Then, a second round video call with the hiring manager. The third round was a video call with leaders in the area I would be supporting. Finally, there was a fourth video call with the CFO.

- How did you approach challenges in your previous jobs?
Operations Processing Specialist
I applied online on 07/29/2022. About two weeks later, on 08/11/22, I had a preliminary screening call with the hiring company. The call was to ask me standard questions about my background and my comfort with Excel functions. The recruiter said someone from AdvisorGroup would contact me if they were interested. The very next day, 08/12/22, a recruitment coordinator reached out to schedule an interview and asked for my two week availability, which I sent that same day. After not hearing back for days, I sent a follow-up on 08/17/22 to see if they needed anything else, but never heard back.
