First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ORTEC.
Consultant
I applied online and then got an online assessment with quant and personality questions, it took about 45 mins. After that, I had an interview about my experience and the assessment results. Even though it felt good, I got a rejection email in less than a week. I asked for feedback but never got it. ORTEC should give feedback when candidates spend so much time on assessments and interviews.

UX Designer
First, I talked to a recruiter who didn't really ask anything about me. They just told me to do a capacity test upfront to see if I was worth their time. After doing the test, they said I'd hear back within a week about my performance. The third contact was me trying to follow up on how I did, but I got no response after three calls over three days and no reply to my email. Finally, the recruiter called me back, but it was super awkward. They abruptly told me I passed the test, but someone else had already been offered the job. I get it, but I wish they'd been more upfront and honest. It’s important to treat candidates like people, not just numbers. This whole experience made me question if it would be a good place to work.
- Complete a capacity test.
Data Analytics Consultant
To apply, you need to send your bachelor's and master's transcripts along with your CV and motivation letter. If these are good enough, you'll take an online personality and intelligence test. After that, there's a first interview. Then, you'll have a case study with an interview. First an intelligence and personality test.
- How do you see the division of work between data and consultancy?
Analyst
I applied online and a month later got an email about doing two online assessments: intelligence and psychological tests. I did them but didn't have much time. After two weeks, I messaged HR and they replied they won't continue because of my test results. I was surprised they didn't even get to know me and made decisions based on tests that are outdated and banned in some countries. I read the report and it's not related to reality, basically putting you on a scale based on answers that depend on the day you're having or your cultural background. It felt like high school. I recommend removing this from the process. A CV screening and max two interviews should be enough, as a candidate is more than just two tests.
