First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Orion Talent.
Account Executive
You'll start with a recruiter phone call, then chat with the regional manager. If that goes well, you might have an onsite or Zoom interview, possibly meeting a VP or COO. The whole thing takes a couple of weeks. Sometimes, you can meet the team at a hiring conference which is a cool way to interview.
- What makes you want to work in sales?
- Considering all your other career paths as a JMO, what draws you to this particular company?
Account Executive
The interview process was long and thorough, but fair. The hiring managers really tried to get a sense of my passion and drive for sales, and they dug into my motivations. It's a competitive role because Orion has a strong applicant pool, so they are selective. Make sure you read books and research sales. Talking to people you know in sales can also help.
- How has your military background prepared you for a career in sales?
Account Executive
Started with a recruiter phone screen, then met partners in person, focusing on appearance. Next was a cold calling exercise with a senior partner (though he mostly made the calls). Then, I interviewed with partners in panels of two. They gave me a homework assignment to research a company and present it as a job pitch at a conference, with a bad example for guidance. Be ready for questions after the presentation, like about company growth, relocation packages, reporting structure, and benefits. The whole process felt excessive for the role and company quality.

- What's your biggest success?
- What are you best at?
