First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Orion Lending.
Account Executive
It was a really easy and direct interview process. First, I had a quick phone call, and then I went in for an in-person interview with the manager and some of the current employees. We discussed what a typical day would be like and my potential earnings.
- What are your thoughts on how you would do well in a sales role?
Inside Account Executive
They tend to be a bit misleading about the actual commission numbers you'll see on most deals, but the interviews themselves are pretty straightforward and they don't reject many candidates. It's a pretty accessible role to get into, and success can really depend on the accounts you're assigned, making it a bit of a gamble.
- What are your primary motivators?
Outside Sales Representative
The interview process was super quick, easy, and I felt the people were really friendly and professional. I had some great interactions and they explained things well. I liked learning about the company's benefits, how the commission program works, and the support I'd get from my manager. It was really informative and got me excited.
- Can you tell me about your past sales quotas?
- What's your experience with brokers?
Business Analyst
Got contacted by an external recruiter and then had an interview with a Senior VP. It felt like they were more focused on talking over me and interrupting me rather than listening to my responses. It might be a cultural difference (they're from the UK), but I didn't feel it was a great interview. A few days later, I was informed about another interview, this time with a different executive, which I thought went significantly better. I was told they were ready to make a decision quickly, but I kept getting put off. My intuition suggests they were delaying the decision until a contract was finalized for their new LOS. Observing the Sr VP's LinkedIn posts, I had a pretty good idea of who the vendor was, and I feel fortunate to have avoided working with Orion and that particular vendor. After being led on for a month, I informed the recruiter that I wished to withdraw my application. In my experience, companies that aren't well-organized are usually a nightmare to work for.
- Can you discuss your previous work history?
