Vendedor
Intern
The interview with penguin was conducted very professionally. They were punctual and polite. They asked about my aspirations and how this role could help me achieve them. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions. It was a positive interview experience.
- Could you tell me about your favorite book and the reasons behind your choice?
Sales Associate
In Original Penguin, the interview process is unique. An applicant goes through 3 interviews: 1) A basic interview with the Store Manager, 2) A moderate interview with the District Manager, and 3) A phone interview with the Business Manager. I went through all of these interviews. The questions were based on introduction, basic experience, "What-ifs" scenarios, salary history, short-term and long-term careers, integrity, and customer service. The process was surprisingly easy and the experience was positive until I was "promised" to be on board with the business and the team. Right after the phone interview, I was told that I was a good fit for the team and they were eager to bring me on board the "next day." But after 2 months of follow-ups and a lack of response, I never received any confirmation. I would think they'd be professional enough to return a call or send me an email about my status after I received word of being a "perfect fit" from them, but I received no response. Follow-ups are useless.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What significant changes do you anticipate in your first six months here?
- Could you share your previous compensation details?
Keyholder
The other keyholder was leaving, so they approached me because I was the only one in the store with experience. I had just one face-to-face interview with the area manager, and that was only because he happened to be in town that weekend. It was very informal; he just asked a few things about my past experience and why I left that place.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience, and why you left?
- As a test for the brand, build an outfit for a fake client.
