I sent in my application for the Adult TTP (Med/Surg) online. Make sure to finish the questionnaire that usually comes with it and send it back with your application. About 3 days after applying, I got contacted to set up a virtual interview using WebEx – get familiar with it beforehand. They didn't ask any clinical questions, but I found the interview pretty challenging, mostly because the questions were long, which made them tough for me. I got offered the job a few days after. I had a hard time with the first question about being unsure of a patient's care. The interviewer was super patient and understanding though, which helped me relax.

I applied online and then the nurse manager called me. They asked me some questions before they would interview me. After that, they said I was a 'good candidate', which was a positive interaction. When I went to the actual interview, it was just with the nurse manager. The manager really focused on their MAGNET status and how it was a high risk unit, and that they train the physicians who go out into the community, which is what you'd expect from a university hospital. They didn't really talk about the actual job or the nursing team. The manager was kind of rude when asking questions and didn't seem interested. When the interview was done, the manager told me I was the last one and that they were 'glad that the interviews were over.' I really expected more from that nursing unit and was disappointed with OHSU.
