First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OrderUp.
Administrative Assistant
I had an in-person interview with the manager for this position. They wanted me to come with questions and show interest in the business. They really wanted to make sure I'd stay in this role and not want to move around the company.
- What are your goals regarding moving up or staying put?
- Is the drive acceptable here?
- Is $23/hour sufficient?
Delivery Operations Manager
I had a quick 30-min phone call with a recruiter on a Friday. It felt like a screening interview, which is standard. Like others mentioned, they said I'd hear back about next steps Monday or Tuesday. But it took over a week, and I had to send an email. Then it took another week and a half for HR to reply. They apologized for the wait and said they'd send over next steps the following week. Two and a half weeks passed, so I emailed again. I got the same generic response, 'So sorry for the delay, I will follow up shortly with next steps.' That was about three weeks ago. Honestly, the whole process has been really messy and unpredictable.
- Imagine you're the company's leading innovator; what unique idea or innovation would you propose to differentiate us from competitors?
Management
The interview process moved along fairly quickly, starting with HR/recruiting, followed by a phone conversation and in person interview with the regional manager and then VP of Sales. The process started out positive and was seemingly organized. As the interviews progressed it became apparent they were not interested in getting to know me at all and showed very little regard for me as an individual. I was never once asked a question about my personal experiences or what I am seeking in a position. I was told what the next steps would be and then never heard from them again. As a company, the candor in which you present to your candidates is also a reflection of the way you value individuals as an asset to your team. It was clear this is lacking within their organization.
- What do you consider the most crucial element of sales?
Project Engineer
I had a phone interview with the employer initially where they asked me a few questions about my resume. The interview lasted about 20-25 minutes. Later, the company visited my university for hiring. My interview went well according to them, but I'm not sure why I was rejected since no reason was given. Overall, it was a simple and friendly chat.
- What led you to choose Construction Management?
- Could you explain the distinction between a Project Engineer and a Field Engineer?
