First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Orchard Software.
Support Technical Specialist
A recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn and we had about 3 interviews. Everyone seemed nice but I ghosted. I think it's rude not to at least call or email someone when I spent time to prep and interview. Finding out that's the new norm and it's actually discouraging to even interview.
- Can you give me an overview about yourself and elaborate further?
Software Test Analyst
Got a call back pretty quickly after applying, it was a decent length phone call. Then I was invited for an in-person interview about a week later. The management was really nice and upfront about everything. They had a test for us to do at the end of the interview. The managers at Orchard are really clear about what they expect from you and they pay attention to figure out if you'd be a good fit for the role.
- Can you describe a negative experience you've had at a previous job and how you dealt with it?
Lab Systems Support Specialist
The interview process started with a brief phone call. Following that, I had a one-hour in-person meeting with the head of technical support, which was a straightforward Q&A. The next interview was a longer, three-hour in-person session. This included a shadowing experience and a somewhat strange panel interview where it seemed the interviewers weren't fully prepared or hadn't reviewed my resume. A highlight of that last interview was when three support team members took the time to answer all my questions about the company.
- Could you tell me about your areas of expertise?
Laboratory Information Support Specialist
The hiring process takes 3 days and it includes a phone interview, a one on one interview with management, meeting the head of the department, meeting a set of current employees in the position, sitting with an employee who is working client systems, and a written test. The total process takes about 6 hours and can be exhausting.
- There were unexpected questions about networking.
