Reward Analyst
It wasn't my favorite process, but I did appreciate their patience and the time they gave me to think, which was a big plus. I liked how straightforward it was, though it was challenging at times.
- Can you share an instance where you erred at work and how you corrected it?
- Describe a time you had a disagreement with your supervisor and how you handled it.
Network Administrator
Had a 1-hour chat with HR about the benefits, where they asked me about 5 situational questions, the kind you see everywhere online. Then, I had a longer interview with the hiring manager, which included 3 technical questions and mostly behavioral ones. After waiting for 6 weeks, they decided to close the job.
- What are the most common behavioral questions found on YouTube interview guides?
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult technical challenge and how you overcame it.
- Describe a situation where you had to manage a network outage. What steps did you take?
Research Assistant
The interview was virtual and involved a few phone calls and a recorded section. It was pretty straightforward and fast, and I got an offer within about two weeks. You don't interview with the people you'd actually be working with in the lab; HR from ORAU handles the interviews. My supervisor made it clear they had no part in the hiring decision, so it's a good idea to research your potential colleagues beforehand to make sure it's a good fit.
- Can you talk about your experience that relates to this role?
Budgeting Specialist
Applied through LinkedIn for a different position, recruiter contacted me asked me to complete video interview and officially apply through the organizations website because she had two days to select a candidate. A few days later, I sent a 'thank you' email and the recruiter informed me that there was another opening in my area (Budgeting position) asked me to once again complete the application and the video interview. About a week later, I received an email from a different recruiter who advised me to contact my references and let them know that they would be contacted very soon. Needless to say that has been weeks ago and they haven't contacted neither myself nor my references. With the time spent applying and interviewing a simple rejection letter would be appreciated.
- Interview questions were pretty standard.
