I first spoke with the person managing on-campus internships and told them I was interested in the specific internship at Coast Collective. They explained the paperwork and asked about my availability and commitment. After that, I met with the actual supervisor, who just asked me why I wanted to intern there. I could start once I finished the paperwork.

Behavioral Presentation

I applied 2-3 months ago and finally had an in-person interview. It was a long wait. I got there 15 minutes early and they gave me the questions to look over. Then I went into a room with 3 people who interviewed me. There were 11 questions. They were writing notes the whole time I answered, so I only saw the tops of their heads. I only made eye contact at the end when I asked them questions. I guess the first interview is all about your answers, not your personality. If there's a second interview, I'm guessing it'll be more personal. They sent a rejection email within 2 hours, which was super fast. This makes me think they already had someone in mind or were just going through the motions. It doesn't feel fair.

The interview process began with an initial online interview where questions were given beforehand and there was a clear task to prepare for. I felt good about it and moved on to the second round, and I chose to do that interview over Zoom. After that, I didn't hear anything back. No updates, no final word. For a role that works with students, the lack of communication and basic respect was a letdown. People interviewing should at least get a response, even if it's a rejection.

I had a phone interview where they asked about my teaching processes. Then, there was a one-on-one interview where they inquired about the assignments I give. I also had to complete a practice assignment, which involved proofreading and providing a mock grade.
