It was sketchy. The recruiter called me out of the blue wanting to interview right away. I tried to get more info on the job but she said she couldn't answer questions over the phone. I agreed to an interview even though I had a bad feeling because I was curious. After looking into the company, I found out they changed their name in 2015 and seem to be part of a group with a similar business model. I suspect they split into smaller companies to avoid paying benefits. Turns out Opus Business Consulting isn't consulting at all; it's a direct sales company and their model is a pyramid scheme. I'd recommend avoiding it unless you're okay with driving your own car and selling Verizon products door-to-door for barely any pay, possibly for a long time. You'll end up tricking others into doing the same. It's a scam targeting college grads. They say no experience is needed and they'll train you or brainwash you, hiring based on your ability to be brainwashed and recruit others.

I applied online and went through some phone screen questions. Then there was an in person initial interview, followed by a second interview and job shadowing. The job posting said $30k salary plus bonus, but during the second interview they said it was $10/hour, then $12 after a review, and eventually $15/hour after another review. This place is shady with their listings and job details. They don't clearly explain the role, instead pushing their 'Management Training Program' without specifics. They do outside (door to door) sales for Verizon and have a lot of interviews. They also have other companies like Duchess Group doing the same thing in the same office.

Got invited in for a short screening interview (15-20 minutes, though I waited longer than that in the lobby) with the branch manager. Then, I was asked to come back the next day for a much longer interview, about an hour. The person who interviewed me the second day had only been working there for a month but had already gotten a promotion to a "Leadership" role. This person was in charge of building their own team to sell Verizon Fios door-to-door and make money for them. The people seemed nice and the environment appeared good, but the "business consulting" job wasn't quite what I expected.

I was contacted for an interview, and offered two time slots; I picked 10:00am. The initial phone call framed the role as a recruiter position. Upon arrival, I found seven other candidates waiting simultaneously. The interview itself was extremely brief, lasting about 10 minutes. The interviewer revealed the actual job involves entry-level door-to-door sales for Verizon, a stark contrast to what was initially presented. This misrepresentation felt deceptive and unprofessional.
