Behavioral Other

The interview experience had very biased and racist undertones. The interviewer, an Middle Eastern man, scrutinized everything on my resume. He asked if the university I attended was "online or a real University?". Then he asked how I could live off the salary they were offering. He also questioned my direct supervisors and wanted to know who their supervisors were, plus all the chain of commands. All of those questions were irrelevant to the position, and he was condescending when I answered, saying "Is that so? Oh really?". It was very unprofessional, especially doing all that interrogating for a $30,000 salary!

I had a phone interview, then a face-to-face interview. During the in-person interview, I was asked to interview with another employee on the spot.

I connected with a recruiter initially at a job fair, then got put forward to HR for a phone chat. The first phone interview was pretty standard, just general questions. I got through to a second phone interview, and they seemed happy with my answers. After we talked about salary, benefits, and travel, they wanted to schedule an in-person meeting. I figured they were pretty much set on hiring me, maybe 80% sure. We booked an interview for that week and confirmed it, but later the same day, the HR manager sent an email saying they decided to hire someone internally. I thought that was super unprofessional. HR people representing the company can't even stick to their commitments with candidates and just cancel interviews out of the blue.

It was pretty simple. They asked why they should hire me. I had to bring letters of recommendations. You have to get a background check. No drug test, which i found really uprising. Also, we kind of just talked in general. The lady who interviewed me was nice. They got phone calls so we took breaks.
