First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Optima.
Commerciale
Simple interview conducted by a regional manager. No 'psychological' questions, just a discussion about your work history and what you want from the role. Overall, for a sales position, it seems like how you say things matters more than what you say.
- What are your thoughts on operating with a VAT number?
Management
The interview process included a phone interview and an in-person meeting. The interviewer was very friendly and knowledgeable about the company and the role, explaining how it connected with my background. They also shared insights into the company's vision. The conversation felt very natural and flowed well.
- Tell me about a situation that required you to think unconventionally.
- How do you see this role fitting with your previous experiences?
- What are your thoughts on the company's future direction?
Project Manager
Scheduling was easy, and the logistics were handled well. The interview, however, involved a lot of assumptions from Optima about a mother's ability to commit to the job, and they seemed put off when I mentioned that work/life balance is really important to me.
- What is your weekly availability in terms of hours?
- Could you describe your commute?
Executive Assistant
I sent in my resume and did some short answer questions. A few days later, I was invited for an in-person interview. There wasn't any phone screen beforehand. When I got there, they immediately took me to a room to wait. I took an assessment that took over an hour, and then I never heard back. It's rude to not get back to candidates, even with a generic email. I understand why they have high turnover.
- Can you tell me about your past experience providing personal assistance?
