First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oppenheimer Holdings.
Investment Banking Analyst
First, I had a 30-minute phone screen with HR. After that, it was a super day with 5-6 interviews, each about 30 minutes long, all over Zoom. I spoke with people from analyst/associate level all the way up to VP and MD. Depending on who I was talking to, the questions were either behavioral or technical.
- Can you explain the impact on the financial statements if depreciation expense were to rise by $10?
Investment Banking Analyst
I had a first round technical screening with an associate/vp. Then a second round interview where I spoke with two MDs, mainly behavioral. I didn't get a final round invite, but the interviewer mentioned it would have been a call with the group head.
- Can you explain a DCF?
- In what way does WACC influence DCF valuation?
Investment Banking Analyst
The interview process had 3 rounds. The first two were a mix of technical and behavioral questions with an analyst or associate. The superday involved interviews with 3 Managing Directors and was primarily behavioral. All interviews were conducted via Zoom, and the firm's team was really friendly and supportive.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Could you explain the three financial statements?
- What are two ways to calculate terminal value?
