Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oppenheimer Holdings.
Associate
The interview process was smooth. There were 2 rounds in total, with the second round being the final one. Everyone I interacted with was very nice, and it seems like a great place to work. The work mainly involves equity raises on public markets for small-cap stocks, with not much M&A activity.
- Could you explain your interest in this particular industry team?
- What type of work culture are you looking for?
- What are your reasons for wanting to join this bank?
Associate
So after an initial phone screen, there were two in-person interviews. It was pretty informal, mostly basic personality questions. They asked about my experience at my last job and how it would fit this role.
- Why are you looking to make this change?
- Can you describe your previous experience and how it connects to this position?
Associate
It was a standard banking process, multiple rounds, including technical aspects. While there wasn't a dedicated technical interview, questions were integrated into each interview, surprisingly with mostly senior bankers. It seems like a strong team with good culture. The pay was below most peers.
- What do you hope to learn in a new role?
