Behavioral

I applied online, got an automated notice the same day, and an email asking for an interview with the internal recruiter within a week. A few days later (Monday), I had what seemed to be a very good interview and was told I was a very strong candidate and that the recruiter would send me a homework assignment for return by the end of the week. She then assured me I'd hear back within 3-4 days of the homework assignment being received... the problem is she never sent the homework assignment. I emailed on Tuesday to let her know it had not arrived. No response. Wednesday I called and left a voicemail giving an alternate email address in case it was a case of a misspelled email address. no response. Friday I called again, left another message, and still got no reply. It's now a week later, and I'm frustrated to find what sounded like a great job and what was a very positive interview led to a big fat unanswered question mark. Very disappointing if their processes are meaning that good candidates are falling between the cracks.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

Found the job posting on the alumni job board. Submitted my resume via email to the person who posted it. Got an automated confirmation. HR reached out via email to set up a phone interview. Had a 30-minute phone interview with HR where we talked about my background, past experience, why I'm leaving my current job, and why I'm interested in OPower. Then, I had a 1-hour phone interview with the Manager, which was rescheduled once. This interview focused more on the OPower position and involved responding to scenarios with proposed solutions. Finally, I had a 3-hour on-site interview with three people: the direct manager for the position, a manager from the corporate office, and a peer in the same role. They all asked different questions about my background, past experience, current job, and presented a problem to solve. Later, I was notified via email that another candidate was selected.

Behavioral Presentation

They started with a recruiter call, then a manager call, and then a long series of meetings that took about 3 hours. It was frustrating that they didn't follow up to let me know where things stood after I invested over 4 hours in talking with them. I didn't bother to ask because I wasn't that interested in continuing, but it felt like a little test to see if you'd push for information. You really have to nudge them to find out what's going on.
