Budget Analyst
To prep a budget I gather all the financial data I need, like revenue forecasts and reports on expenditures. Then I analyze this data to spot trends and make projections. Finally, I allocate resources and submit the budget for approval.
- Can you describe your responsibilities as a budget analyst?
Administrative Coordinator
I had a phone interview that was all about me, asking things like what my passions are. Then I had an in person interview which was really good, it went on for a while and was thorough. They wanted to see a lot of examples from my past work!
- Could you describe your previous experience?
- How do you handle operating under pressure?
SEM Coordinator
I applied online and got a call from HR for some basic questions. Then, I had two Skype interviews with people in marketing. After the third interview, the head of marketing seemed really interested and said I'd get an offer soon. But then, I got an email with a salary offer that was way lower than I expected, and they asked for consent for a background check. I agreed and asked for a higher salary. I thought the job was basically mine since salary and background checks are usually the last steps. I even started looking for apartments. However, I had to wait 10 days for a response about the salary. During that time, HR ignored my emails and calls. I had to go to the head of marketing to get any updates. When HR finally called back over a week later, they told me the salary was $30,000, non-negotiable, no relocation help, and I'd have to do a fourth in-person interview in Virginia, and they were still interviewing others. They also used my 'lack of experience' as a reason to offer a low salary, even though the job required 2 years and I had 1. HR was rude and didn't want me to come for the interview, saying she 'didn't want to get my hopes up.' It was a really unprofessional experience with the low salary, poor communication, and dishonesty. I decided not to pursue it further.
